Trip Description: Escure Ranch was a former sheep ranch with an interesting history. This property is now BLM, Bureau of Land Management. Easy, but long walks.
Rock Creek and Towell Falls will be the birding walk for Friday, April 28. This is 6.4 miles round trip, and 500 ft elevation gain. The trail is an old road. We will walk and bird along the creek, passing basalt cliffs to Towell Falls. Camping is free, but first come, first served. For this reason, it would be good to leave Spokane between 8 and 9 am on Friday. There are six sites, one vault toilet, picnic tables and fire pits. On Saturday, we will walk to Wall Lake. This is a trail, and perhaps about 4 miles one way. There should be lots of waterfowl. We will start from the parking/campsites by 9 am. Wall Lake hike may be cut short due to water conditions.
