RJ Baltierra is currently a field biologist who works various bird-related field jobs across the country. He has been birding since he was about 8 years old when his grandma began taking him on Audubon field trips back in Oceanside, California. In 2015 he landed his first bird-related job doing point count surveys in the backcountry of Idaho. He did that for four summers including 2018 which is when he graduated from Washington State University with a B.S. in Zoology. That summer he also landed a volunteer hawk counter position at the Corpus Christi Hawkwatch along the coastal bend of Texas. In this presentation he will share his experiences during his Fall in Corpus Christi at the most diverse and numerous hawkwatch in the country!
