Bird Walk at Slavin Conservation Area

  • Slavin Conservation Area 12900 South Keeney Road Spokane, WA, 99224 United States (map)

Please join volunteer hike docent Liz Melville with Inland NW Land Conservancy and birding guide Alan McCoy from Spokane Audubon Society on Saturday, September 19th, for a late-summer, early fall birding hike around the James T. Slavin Conservation Area.

Red-necked Phalarope

For Liz, Slavin holds a special place in her heart. One of her most memorable experiences was watching baby Northern Flickers peeking out from an old tree while nearby nuthatches nested below, turning the tree into what she describes as “an apartment complex of birds.” She’s excited to share the magic of this amazing place with others.
