Join Tim O’Brien at Saltese Flats to look for migratory shorebirds!

Fall shorebird migration will be the focus of this trip visiting two sites that hold great potential for close-up views of these hard to identify birds.  We will start at Saltese Flats at the Doris Morrison Learning Center at 8:00am sharp.  We will walk down to Graham Pond and view the birds there and then either walk or drive to the south side of the Flats to check Pete's Pond.  Then we will carpool west from there to the Medical Lake area and check the mudflats around Granite and Willow Lakes.  This will be a slow-paced trip focusing on shorebird identification.  Photography is welcome.  Please come prepared for sun exposure, potential ticks, and bring food/drink.  Total walking distance estimated at 3 miles with frequent stops.  Spotting scopes are recommended if you have one.  Please reserve your spot by email:  rather.b.birdin@gmail.com or by text 509-850-7114.
